The Dorados fishing season in this area generally begins in September/October, but the best time to fish for pacú and pirá pita is during the summer months (January, February and March). This is when anglers have the best chance of fishing the "Grand Slam," catching all three species of trophy fish in one trip.

September to mid-December and then April to May are the best times to fish for dorado. And during the summer season (January, February and March) is the ideal time for fishing omnivorous species.
